That's all he wrote

We left Cairo on a overnight flight, planes, trains and automobile'ing it through the Madrid, London, Houston, and Los Angeles airports, finally arriving back in Orange County early New Years Eve morning.
So many people to thank... Steve and Kaisa, the Beauvils, the Nubian people, all the amazing friends we met and of course, our friends and best travel companions a couple could ask for... Helen and Ryan.
You guys are incredible, love you and can't wait for the next adventure.

Heather looking back at the door... seriously thinking, WTF!, lets just keep going.

All scrubbed and cleaned, the happy travellers are back in form.
One last weekend with my moustache. Oh and to the jerk off Immigration agent who processed us in... NO I am not coming to LA to try my hand at gay porn...

Heather and Lulu back in each others arms...

I guess I should end with some sort of deep, well earned lesson from 5 weeks of overseas travel...
After spending the day yesterday, out and about the OC, I realized that we North Americans really take our ability to poop anywhere, at any given time, much too lightly. The bathrooms in First World nations are quite lovely, where as pooping in the Third World, whether on a train, in a 5000 year old temple or in a field with a camel and a water buffalo looking on, is to invite an immediate gag reflex and the need for very very strong thighs.

So friends, family and collegues, today, whether at work, or Target or a restaurant, I want you to go and poop, and think of me and my words as you do.

Thank you all for following along, Happy Holidays and even a Happier New Year.
All inquires for speaking engagements, blog signings or tickle fights should be directed to Heather and I at our email addresses or mobiles (riad_bacchus@hotmail.com / 714 931 3985 and heatherzhere@hotmail.com / 949 887 5693).
To those of you who pinged me via email during the trip, I promise to respond soon.

Quietest place in all of Cairo

In the first century, St. Mark (one of the original apostles), travelled to Egypt to spread the gospel. Due to disagreement on dogma, when the Roman Catholic church was formalized in the 4th century, the Egyptians did not join. Egyptian Christians are known as Copts, and there is an small area within Cairo were they live, and their most holiest shrines are built.

The church of St. George...

Heather and Helen wandering the ancient streets...

In a city of over 20 million, of course the quietest place is a freakin graveyard...

We decided that until I get right with the big guy, Heather would handle all fire whenever in a church...

Beautiful arabesque architecture, but where normally there would be an Islamic Cresent, there are Christian Crosses.

Inside a small courtyard, the epic battle between Tweety and Sylvester continued...

Egypt has tons and tons of relics and are constantly discovering more, for example, we stumbled upon this 2000 year old jade statue of a royal cat, in a display case in the Metro... sort of like having Ben Franklin's hat at the Irvine train station...

After a last dinner, we ended an amazing 2 weeks together with a date milkshake.
