One bridge town

We understood that coming to Borneo this time of year (monsoon season), meant rain, but I don't think we fully appreciated how much is actually rained in a rain forest (alot alot alot).

When Borneo gives you rain, buy a bright yellow poncho that looks like a lemon so you can make lemonade? yikes... that was terrible, cut me some slack, it is late and I am tired.

Our new crew, from left to right, Christian, Penan guide, Rieke #1 (Dutch), Rieke #2 (German) and Rasmussen (German).
Derick, the tiny short wearing South African, had left early to make sure his tent, yes TENT, had not floated away in the torrential down pour.

Borneo is a real life Land of the Lost... every creature is 10x the usual western version.
In addition to the creepy stuff in the caves, we also several different species of giant moths.

Another centipede, giant, but not poisionous.

There are over a hundred different species of frogs in Borneo, and they are still discovering new ones.
This little guy screams "Waaahht! Waaahht! Waaahht!" through the night, which is surprisingly calming.
The Bornean equivalent of listening to the surf.

The veranda outside our longhouse, beautiful rich red , hardwood floors and a killer view.

Oh and did I mention, it rains on occasion.
