Ze German wins the biggest balls award

Another adventure cave opportunity popped up the day before we were scheduled to leave, but Heather had had enough.
She opted for the quiet walk through the jungle to yet another waterfall (still not as beautiful or magical as our first), where as I, still jonsing to get my spelunk on, headed back into the earth's belly with a couple of Germans, Reike and Rasmussen.

The obligatory boat ride...

lead to a small crevice, peeking through the jungle under growth...

This particular cave is called Racer, ridiculous we thought, considering that it was very slow going, with alot of rope climbs. Oh and this guide just simply did away with the pretense of a safety briefing and a harness.
Better no harness than a poorly tied one I guess???

Soon, we discovered that the reason the cave is named Racer, is due to the racer SNAKES that lives there.

Our fearless guide, Susan... seriously her name is Susan, which is apparently a very popular Malay name... who knew?

So as if millions of bats, giant deadly poisonous centipedes, and snakes were not enough, the caves are also filled with... wait for it, wait for it... giant poisonous spiders.
BUT, they are not deadly poisonous spiders... the poison will only hurt really badly.

This was like my 5th cave, so emboldened, ze German and I decided to play, "Who can get their face closes to the giant, poisonous, but not deadly, spider?"... super fun, recommend it for the kids at home.

ze German won!

Journey to the center of the earth...

Vans skate shoes are NOT appropriate for spelunking...
